Redefining Latin American steel objectives

Steel companies in Latin America, once inefficient State owned enterprises, have largely seen an astounding success since privatisation. The annual ILAFA meeting to be held in Rio de Janeiro October 19-22, is expected to report optimistically on the future but must also address the question of international trade: - once itself a region accused of dumping, it is now seeking protection from imports from former Soviet Bloc countries.
