NANSA astronaut receives BIS award

On 21 November, at only a few days notice, a hastily arranged ceremony allowed British born NASA astronaut Dr Nicholas Patrick to receive his BIS silver pin. Nick Patrick was in London giving some presentations to students when BIS council member Nick Spall took the opportunity to invite him to the BIS, where he was honoured with the presentation of his silver pin by Society President Dr Bob Parkinson. The pin was originally the brainchild of British born space tourist/philanthropist and space station visitor Richard Garriott, the son of former NASA Skylab and Shuttle astronaut Owen Garriott.
