India Launches Second Navigation Satellite

The Indian Space Research Organisation successfully launched the second of a planned seven regional navigation satellites April 4 from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota, India, aboard its Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle. The Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System (TRNSS) will feature three satellites in geostationary orbit, two in inclined geosynchronous orbit and two spares. The first satellite, IRNSS-1 A, launched July 2,2013, and is functioning.
