At press time Dec. 4, U.S. President Barack Obama was expected to sign a transportation policy bill that includes language reauthorizing the U.S. Export-Import Bank, which has been active in financing satellite projects in recent years. The U.S. House of Representatives and Senate passed Dec. 3 a final version of a transportation bill that a House-Senate conference committee completed two days earlier. The final bill reauthorizes the Ex-Im Bank through September 2019, a provision originally added in the Senate's version of the bill.
