Rovers Aiding NASA In Planning, Prioritizing Future Missions

In addition to the strong contribution they are making to scientific understanding about the early formation of Mars, NASA's two rovers also are helping the U.S. space agency figure out the kind of missions and technology that will be needed to advance Mars exploration over the next decade. The rover missions so far have spotlighted some of the things NASA will need to spend money on as it continues its planned aggressive exploration of Mars, Ed Weiler, NASA's associate administrator for space science, said March 2 during a press briefing at NASA Headquarters in Washington.
