USAF To Press Experimental Surveillance Telescope Into Service

The U.S. Air Force is planning to bolster space surveillance capabilities later this year by pressing an experimental ground-based telescope into operation, according to a Defense Department document. The Deep View telescope is one of several ground-based space situational awareness sensors being developed by the Pentagon's Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) that is expected to transition to operational use in the near future.
