Burkhardt Selected To Be U.S. Army's First Geospatial Information Officer

The U.S. Army has appointed Robert Burkhardt as its first geospatial information officer (GIO), according to an Army news release dated Feb. 28. Burkhardt currently serves as director of the Army's Engineer Research and Development Center's Topographic Engineering Center in Alexandria, Va.
