The European version of Russia's Soyuz rocket is now scheduled to make its inaugural launch in June 2010 from Europe's spaceport here and will carry the Hylas broadband satellite owned by Avanti Communications of London, according to Jean-Yves Le Gall, chief executive of Europe's Arianespace launch services consortium.rnLe Gall also said Arianespace will launch the first of 24 second-generation Globalstar mobile communications satellites in August 2010 aboard Soyuz vehicles operated from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan, the rocket's home base. A second Soyuz Global-star launch, also from Baikonur, will occur in late 2010, with the two remaining launches set for 2011, Le Gall said in an Oct. 30 interview.
