The conclusion of the space shuttle program will produce significant changes for the White Sands Test Facility (WSTF), a NASA outpost in the desert near Las Cruces, N.M., where scientists evaluate potentially hazardous, toxic and explosive fluids and materials.rnFor decades, WSTF officials have been involved in major elements of the shutde program including testing and refurbishing propulsion systems, refining loading and checkout procedures, and developing propel-lant disposal methods.
