U.S. Army Satcom Deal Valued at $136.2 Million

Americom Government Services (AGS) of McLean, Va., has been awarded a five-year, $136.2 million contract to provide the U.S. Army with satellite bandwidth as well as associated network systems engineering, operations and maintenance, a June 13 AGS press release said.rnThe contract is in support of the Army's Trojan Network, which provides operational intelligence to increase the combat readiness of military personnel all over the world. The deal includes options that could bring its value to as much as $286.5 million over 10 years. AGS has been performing similar work for the Army since 1998.
