Since 2011, ACCESS is bringing out a separate 'Microfinance India Social Performance Report'. It has become an important reference document for the microfinance sector in India. It focuses on the role being played by various stakeholders in microfinance institutions (MFIs), and documents and showcases best practices through field-based evidence. This annual publication provides a window into achievements and issues of concern in the area of social performance management of MFIs in India. The background material for this report is mainly based on literature review, field surveys and interviews with clients and senior staff of MFIs, review of policies and procedures of MFIs, insight from investors, etc.
