While attending a zero waste conference this May in British Columbia, I took the opportunity to inform old acquaintances of my new role as managing director of the Carton Council of Canada (CCC). As I ran into one of these contacts at a recycling facility tour back in Ontario the following week, he offered to take a picture of me next to old corrugated container bales. Seeing my perplexed expression, he explained that he thought I might want a picture of myself beside the commodity I represent. Needless to say, a "carton 101" crash course was in order.
