Experimental Engineering Investigations of a Two-Layer Bed Formed from a Sand Cushion and Loess-Like Soil

Results are presented for a large-scale field experiment wherein experimental and theoretical horizontal and vertical pressures are compared in a two-layer bed. Rational methods are proposed for the design of a sand cushion with the introduction of correction factors. The economic effectiveness is analyzed in an example of the bed of a multi-story tenement building in Barnaul.
