POLYANILINE MICRO/NANO CAPSULES VIA FACILE INTERFACIAL POLYMERIZATION APPROACH

摘要

Interfacial polymerization approach was developed for the fabrication of the polyaniline micro/ nano capsules in the static condition or with stirring. The effects of the emulsion composition such as the amounts of the surfactant, inert solvent (toluene), monomer, and water on the formation of the intact polyaniline capsules were investigated. The morphologies of the polyaniline microano capsules had been validated with transmission electron microscopy. The intact polyaniline capsules were obtained with the same emulsion composition whether with stirring or not. It was found that the emulsion compositions determined the formation of the intact polyaniline capsules and the stirring played an important role on the capsule sizes.
