In 1987, I visited an interesting young company in California's Silicon Valley that was going to revolutionize the way software projects are managed and developed. The company, called Rational, had designed a platform that would interactively plan, code, test, and document software through dialogue between humans and a sophisticated intelligent computer system. The entire development process would be greatly simplified and would even adhere to the US Department of Defense's 2167 software development standard. I was amazed.
