Crisis Within Social Capital? The Negative Impact on Natural Resources of Tension Between Household and Community Social Capital in a Migrant Ladino Enclave on Utila

This article explores two kinds of social capital in the ladino community of Camponado on the Honduran island of Utila: household social capital (HSC) and community social capital (CSC), demonstrating how the one pulls in the opposite direction to the other, thereby weakening the capacity of the community to achieve common ends such as natural resource conservation.
