W.Va. environmental watchdog will treat water discharge at former mine sites

The West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection has committed to a schedule for treating polluted water discharge from former mine sites. According to documents filed in two U.S. District Courts in West Virginia, WVDEP will complete construction for treatment systems at a collection of former mine sites now owned and managed by the state agency in Barbour, Nicholas and Preston counties.
