Color Processing for Digital Cinema 5: Calculation of the Matrices Needed for Processing Digital Cinema Images

This series of articles on color processing for digital cinema is based on the Engineering Guideline, SMPTE 432-1. The DC28 committee believed the information in that guideline would be more widely available if it were published as a series of articles in the Journal. This fifth article in the series describes the calculation of the matrices that are needed for the processing of digital cinema images. These matrices will be needed in a posthouse for processing digital cinema images and inside the digital projector that will be used to project digital cinema images.
