BRANCH LINES TO SUDBURY

Another volume from the Middleton Press covering the rural lines around Sudbury. The book is in the usual house style of the publishers - condensed history, geographical setting, maps and diagrams of the stations with the photographs covering mainly the post war period until closure. Such names as Long Melford and Lavenham conjure up images of an age long gone and the population figures for some of the places mentioned explain the reasons why the lines did not survive in the changed economic conditions of the later part of the twentieth century.
