Emerging in the wake of the European marine sector's current 'electric renaissance', L'escapade joins the many passenger vessels within this territory to have selected hybrid diesel-electric power for operations. The vessel's construction has also involved what builder Alumarine terms a "pooling of European know-hows", with the vessel's diesel engine manufactured in Sweden, her battery management system sourced from the UK, her naval architecture provided by Belgium, her batteries delivered from Germany and her hybrid control system made in Italy.
