Visualisation is one of the buzzwords - often a selling point - for computer graphics. You could also call it scientific imaging. The essence is to take vast amounts of data and create an image that helps the viewer to understand an underlying structure or pattern. Examples might include visualising the inside of a nuclear reactor or a hurricane. But, in this case, our visualisation is of a black hole - one that is bigger than our solar system and found in a galaxy far, far away.
