Most of my professional life is lived not as Dr Fisher, but using my secret identity in the (mild) manner of Clark Kent or Peter Parker (who, just in case you didn't know, morphs in times of stress into Spiderman). In this guise, buried among offers to sell me a watch, to share $15 million stashed in a Third World bank, or to improve my sex life, I get requests for help and advice from researchers around the world. Sometimes I am told that the questioner has access only to certain statistical programs, typically SPSS.
