In August, the chapter sponsored a professional development course on emerging technologies. Lt. Col. Antonio Castro Lechtaler, EA (Ret.), a telecommunications and computer consultant, and Col. Alejandro L. Echazu, EA, assistant director, Escuela Superior Tecnica, coordinated the event, which drew more than 30 attendees and featured seven guest speakers. Topics included multiprotocol label switching, cloud computing, virtualization and the Global Information Grid. There also was a demonstration on how to train with desktop grid computing in simulation systems.
