A new navigation system will be tested aboard NASA's last planned shuttle mission (STS-134), which is scheduled to take place in February 2011. Astronauts will test the equipment that was created to improve the safety and ease of docking operations between spacecraft and the International Space Station (ISS).rnThe ultimate test of the system will take place during an on-orbit maneuver as part of the Sensor Test for Orion Relative Navigation Risk Mitigation (STORRM) development test objective in space. The NASA Orion crew exploration vehicle, which is part of the Constellation Program to send human explorers to the moon, will undock from the ISS and then re-rendezvous with the station using the Orion system.
