These water journeys visit quiet lakes, tropical islands, and gentle rivers and springs, with frequent stops for day hikes, swimming, photography, or just stretching your legs. Everglades National Park Base Camp, Florida. December 27, 2011-January 1, 2012. Spend New Year's week camped on a tropical beach, surrounded by exotic wildlife, warm breezes, and the mysterious Everglades. We'll camp on one of the many small islands that make up the Ten Thousand Islands in Florida Bay, spending our days kayaking and fishing its legendary waters.
