Thermal Waste Recycling: An Environmental Appraisal

摘要

A patented thermal waste recycling process developed by Siemens holds the potential for solving most of the major problems associated with treatment of municipal solid waste. An independent environmental appraisal of the process based on the operation of a simulated demonstration plant revealed that such a facility would slash landfill requirements, sharply cut the number and quantity of pollutants released into the atmosphere, and eliminate the threat of groundwater contamination.
