ASBPA 2013 National Coastal Conference 'Responding to Waves of Change' Call for abstracts

The American Shore & Beach Preservation Association (ASBPA) announces the Call for Abstracts for their 2013 national coastal conference, which is being held Oct. 23-26, 2013, at the Isla Grand Resort in South Padre Island, Texas. ASBPA is the nation's first organization to promote science-based policies for the preservation of coastal areas. The theme of the 2013 conference is "Responding to Waves of Change." With the threats of sea level and climate change; change produced by devastating storms and disasters; changes in legislative policy and practice, in the economy, in funding for coastal projects, in agency guidelines and responsibilities; and changes in coastal technology; those of us who are charged with protecting and maintaining our coastal regions must respond with the strength of a united voice, a voice that is amplified by the knowledge of best practices in coastal science, technology, and policies.
