Everett is an industrial city in Sno-homish County, Washington, on the west central mainland of Puget Sound, about 90 km south of Bellingham and 40 km north of Seattle (Figure 1). The city, founded at the mouth of the Snohomish River, is sheltered from open coast Pacific Ocean wave conditions and storms by its distance from the Strait of Juan de Fuca and the sheltering effects of Whidbey and Camino Islands.
