Kapetan Alexandras A (1962/4,908gt), which started life as the Transport Ferry Service vessel Doric Ferry, has gone from lay-up at Bari to Aliaga, Turkey. Doric Ferry was delivered to the Atlantic Steam Navigation Co from the Ailsa Shipbuilding at Troon in April 1962 and joined year-old sister Cerdic Ferry at Tilbury, running to Rotterdam and Antwerp.rnDoric Ferry switched to the Preston-Belfast route in 1967 and later helped to establish thernCairnryan-Larne route from July 1974 until sold in 1981, serving Libra Maritime as Atlas II. She was bought by Cycladic Lines in 1988 and ran from Rafina as Alkeos until 1990.
