Strolling around Orion's decks

One of the best aspects of Orion was the amount of open deck space for both first and tourist class passengers. This was most evident on the boat deck, where the numerous ventilators were clustered on an island surrounding the large single funnel. This arrangement provided ample, uninterrupted space for eight games courts for those in first class.rnThe lifeboats were slung 6ft above the deck, giving clear views either side of the ship and allowing passengers to walk beneath them without crossing any of the games pitches. The forward end of A Deck was also protected from head winds by a wind-deflector.
