Sir Walter Scott to the rescue of Shieldhall

The owners and operators of the classic steamer Sir Walter Scott, which cruises on Loch Katrine, have generously offered to donate a proportion of their profit from the last sailings of the season on 30 October to help the classic steamer Shieldhall-based in Southampton. Shieldhall needs repairs to the hull framing in the engine room to regain her passenger certificate.From our point of view, this is a magnanimous gesture from an older lady of 1899 to a younger one of just 56 years old, both built on the Clyde and with strong connections to each other through Glasgow Corporation.
