Utopian dream gets closer

Utopia residences is getting closer to signing a firm order with South Korea's Samsung Heavy Industries for the construction of a 105,000gt residence-ship for delivery in 2014 at a cost of US$1.1 billion. The vessel will be significantly larger than the only other similar vessel in operation today, Residensea's The World, and will feature 200 private residences and a boutique hotel with 200 rooms on Decks 6 and 7, prices being comparable to room rates ashore during such events as Carnival in Rio or the Monaco Grand Prix. The name of a hotel chain which will operate the services is to be announced soon.
