The latest of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution's 16m Tamar lifeboats to enter service arrived at Shoreham Harbour on 10 December 2010 and was housed in her brand-new boathouse. She was welcomed home by the relief 16m Tamar Victor Freeman, which had been on temporary duty, as well as the Newhaven lifeboat David and Elizabeth Acland and inshore lifeboats from Brighton and Littlehampton. The new lifeboat is named after Enid Collett, the donor whose generous legacy funded most of the £2.7 million cost of the lifeboat. The new state-of-the-art lifeboat house also provides accommodation for the ILB.
