After years without any railway traffic, the rail ferry service between Frederikshavn and Gothenburg was reactivated in May, and during the following months two of the useable four tracks aboard the ageing ro-ro ferry Stena Scanrail (1973) were once again populated by railway wagons. The reactivation was necessary after a Finnish coaster hit and disabled the railway bridge over Limfjorden in March, putting the bridge out of use for at least six months.
