NEW LIFE FOR KEEWATIN

The historic Canadian Pacific Railroad passenger steamer Keewatin is to move from Saugatuck, Michigan to a new home in Ontario. Skyline International Development Inc acquired the 3,856grt vessel, built by Fairfield at Govan in 1907, in October 2011 to become the centrepiece of a newly-developed resort at Port McNicoll north of Toronto. She will be towed from Saugatuck, once dredging work has been carried out, to enable her to clear her berth, and her arrival in Port McNicoll is scheduled for 23 June.
