Ocean to London for Olympics

The Royal Navy's largest ship, HMS Ocean, sailed up the Thames on 4 May to take part in a major military and civilian exercise to ensure the London 2012 Olympic Games are as safe as possible. Ocean was moored at Greenwich and acted as a maritime logistic hub in support of police-led maritime security operations during the exercise. Exercise Olympic Guardian involved testing a wide range of capabilities over a nine-day period, with four Royal Navy Lynx helicopters and four Army Air Corps Lynx helicopters operating from the ship.
