Costa goes world cruising

After a 17-year absence, Costa Cruises has returned to the world cruise market. The 2,860-passenger Costa Deliziosa (2010/92,700gt) set sail from Savona on 28 December 2011 on a 100-day circumnavigation and returns on 6 April, calling at 37 ports along the way. Despite the large size of the vessel, the cruise was fully booked with over half the passengers coming from Italy and Germany and the remainder from Spain and France. Costa has already scheduled a second such cruise for Costa Deliziosa in January 2013.
