Future flagship in build

Construction of the new Costa Cruises flagship Costa Diadema is well under way in Italy as the ship's fore-end block was installed recently. The section weighs 392 tonnes, is 8m high and has a maximum breadth of 36.11m. Scheduled for delivery on 30 October 2014, Costa Diadema is set to be the largest cruise ship flying the Italian flag and measures 306m by 37.2m. Costa's future flagship will have a total passenger capacity of 4,947 and 1,253 crew members. Following the entry of Costa Diadema into service, ships in the Costa fleet will be able to accommodate a total of up to 45,000 passengers.
