Sindhurakshak aftermath

The magnitude of explosions on board the Indian submarine INS Sindhurakshak has become clearer, with teams still working to extricate the bodies of those killed from the partially sunken wreck in Mumbai more than a month after the tragedy. The suspected detonation of two Klub-S missiles melted parts of the internal hull, deforming the submarine hatches, causing the boat to sink nose first into deep silt. A number of foreign salvage companies have surveyed the wreck ahead of its recovery.
