The boutique cruise operator Ponant Cruises, essentially French although now owned by the British investment group Bridgepoint Capital, took delivery of the third ship in the Le Boreal series from the Ancona shipyard at Fincantieri on 27 June. The 264-passenger Le Soleal, at 10,992gt, is slightly larger than her 10,944gt sisters Le Boreal and L'Austral, but is otherwise virtually identical. Launched on 6 December 2012, she is described as more like a mega yacht than a cruise ship.
