Training tug enters service

Harley Marine Services, a leading marine transportation company in the United States, has purchased the prototype training tug BRAtt from Robert Allan Ltd. The 8,53m BRAtt embodies all the functions and handling characteristics of a modem ASD tug and was built as a training tool. A pair of Cummins QSB5.9-230 HD marine diesels, generating a total of 450bhp, drive a pair of Olympic HD3 fully azimuthing drives giving the little tug a bollard pull of 3.6 tonnes and a maximum speed of 8 knots. In the wheelhouse, the propulsion controls are representative of those found in the majority of ASD tugs.
