Railway ferries for Crimea

Russia's Marine Engineering Bureau has completed a design for two new railway ferries for the nation's Federal Marine and River Transport Agency to serve the Crimea-Kavkaz route across the Kerch Strait. To be built to Ice2 class specifications for year-around operation, the twin 149.99m by 22m vessels will be capable of carrying passengers and railcars as well as automobiles and heavy vehicles. A speed of 12 knots will be provided by engines of 4,080KW output, allowing two voyages per day.
