Main engine damage repair - learning from the Princess of Scandinavia

The main engines onboard Princess of Scandinavia, a car and passenger ferry operated by DFDS in Denmark, are four SEMT Pielstick design type 12PC 3480/520, with a bore of 480 mm and a stroke of 520 mm. This project is believed to be the first of its kind, in that a group of engine builders were the main contractor for the overhaul and repair of a ship's main engines which also involved steel work.
