Testing times for NIOZ

The Royal Netherlands Institute for Sea Research (NIOZ) has opened and demonstrated a new enlarged ballast water test site.rnSince 2002 NIOZ has employed its long-standing scientific expertise in plankton research to develop adequate evaluation procedures for ballast water treatment systems. The cooperation with governments and stakeholders has resulted in the EU Interreg project 'North Sea Ballast Water Opportunity (NSBWO) of the joint North Sea countries.
