Einstieg in den Bau von ConRo- und RoPax-Schiffen

The Turkish operator U.N Ro-Ro has decided to build another two ships with Flensburger shipyard FSG. A respective contract has been signed in the beginning of June. U.N Ro-Ro has already contracted ten ships at the yard since 1999. Currently FSG is building a series of four vessels according to the Standard design "Ro-Ro 3750", the first unit of which has been delivered as "Saffet Ulusoy" at the end of March. The order book of FSG further includes two ConRo-vessels for Belgian operator Cobelfret N.V. (due for delivery in 2006 and 2007) as well as three double-ended RoPax vessels for Canadian BC Ferries (due for delivery in 2007 and 2008). The medium-sized shipyard, which has placed itself successfully among the world market leaders in the RoRo-newbuilding segment, will thereby diversify its activities and dynamically enter two other potential-bearing market segments.
