International verbindlicher Beschichtungsstandard für Ballastwassertanks

A new Performance Standard for Protective Coatings has been adopted by the MSC 81 Committee of the International Maritime Organisation. The standard provides technical requirements for protective coatings in dedicated seawater ballast tanks of all types of ships of not less than 500 gross tonnage and double-side skin spaces arranged in bulk carriers of 150m in length and upward. Furthermore extensive documentation and verification requirements for the whole application process as well as testing requirements for coating systems is included in the standard.
