New survey cat

The most recent completion from the Isle of Wight, UK, yard of Cheetah Marine is Sandkat, a GRP survey vessel for Salveson Fox Limited. Having an overall length of 8.0m, with a beam of 2.4m, the boat is powered by two Honda 90 4-stroke petrol out-boards giving a speed of approximately 30 knots. These are mounted on welded aluminium pods, which are watertight structures bolted to the transom and continuing the lines of the hull, effectively increasing the waterline length. A metal structure between the pods carries two 100-litre flexible fuel tanks.
