New combat support boat makes debut

Most modern armies have logistic support boats in their equipment. These are virtually small tugs capable of pulling or pushing the floating sections of portable bridges into position. Historically they have been slow boats with the emphasis on towing, but the latest version developed for the British Army by RTK Marine, based in Poole, UK, is claimed to be capable of planing speeds up to 30 knots which opens up exciting possibilities in commercial markets.
