Workboat benefits from powerful crane

Anew multi-role vessel Laura M built (see New Deliveries, this issue) for Gareloch Support Services (Plant) Ltd of Scotland is fitted with what is claimed to be some of the most powerful lifting equipment available today, including an Effer 65000 crane. The 200tonne MRV was constructed at the Halmatic shipyard in Portchester. With its 8m beam and twin 525bhp engines, the 20m long MRV has been designed to provide an unusually sturdy and stable platform for heavy lifting and moving tasks, even under difficult sea and weather conditions.
