Following the successful introduction of its TCA axial turbocharger for large engines, MAN B&W Diesel Group, of Augsburg, Germany, has announced a further expansion of its turbocharging product range to include a completely new radial turbocharger. The TCR turbocharger will replace the current NR series which has been in production for nearly 50 years culminating in the current NR/S design. The new TCR series has a compressor pressure ratio of 4.7:1 and, in special versions, can accommodate pressure ratios up to 5.2. Six different models have been introduced, for use with small medium speed diesels and gas engines as well as high speed units. The product range can cover engine outputs from 400kW to almost 6000kW.
